Rich Smith is a performer, composer, and music producer, who has enchanted audiences with his impressive piano and vocal performances since the age of 6. With a passionate and effortless improvisational style, Rich’s performances and CD’s have received critical acclaim worldwide. His love for nature and the environment has inspired many of his musical compositions. “The Giant Forest”, one of Rich’s CD’s, glorified and personified Sequoia trees and parts of their ecosystem like water, fire, a chipmunk and a hawk. His music has been featured in film, television, radio, theater, and events for such clients as the Producers Guild of America, Premiere Radio Networks, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Green Living Project. He performs locally and abroad, as a soloist or with groups, and recently premiered a co-written piece, “For You We Sing, America”, with the Air National Guard Band of the Southwest. Rich grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts, served four honorable years in the U.S. Air Force (including world tours as a pianist for “Tops in Blue”), went on to graduate from Berklee College of Music in Boston, then moved to Los Angeles, California in 1996, to pursue his career as a performer and composer.
